I had no idea a new restaurant had moved in here! I came by to have breakfast with my parents today and am really excited that such a fun breakfast spot has opened in downtown GE! The staff is amazingly friendly- from Shelley to the server Chloe and hostess and even the busboy. They have really done a lot with a small space. The decorations are lovely and the dining area feels light and open- once Crescent clears up they can open the french doors which will be lovely. Anyone who remembers some of the dark and cramped restaurants who have previously occupied this location will be amazed with what Five 0 Four has done with the room! The menu is a different spin on breakfast. We all ordered from the more decadent pancake/waffle/French toast side of the menu, but there are skillets, Benedicts and quite a few other options (duck!). Additionally, Shelley told us they will be opening for dinner some time in September. The food was outstanding. I had "churro waffles" (coated in cinnamon sugar with tres leche dipping sauce and homemade coffee infused whipped cream) my mom got the stuffed French toast (with a lemon sauce on top, strawberry cream cheese in the middle covered with berries) and my dad had the granola-berry pancakes. Shelley brought us samples of the Five 0 Four limeade (which I will order next time because WOW) and a cold brewed ice tea (which reminds me of hibiscus iced tea without the dryness I associate with hibiscus). Most of the food is organic and made from scratch. It's more expensive than a diner, but you can get an entree and coffee for 20 a person. Five 0 Four Kitchen is absolutely fantastic and a must-try for anyone who adores breakfast. *edit 5/11/25* We came for mother's day to finally check out the dinner menu- this place is amazing! The food was fantastic, but the staff was just incredible! I got the ceviche as an entree and the chef brought it out to explain how it represents and is influenced by Guatemala. They even poured a liquid nitrogen layer under the plate to keep it cool (and it looked amazing). Y'all, the dinner menu is every bit as fantastic as the breakfast choices. We will be back for sure!

My 3rd time back w/two friends who'd never been. Our server, Nicole, was so friendly, infomative and attentive. Our cocktails were pretty and so good. We shared our dishes to taste more things. Brussels sprouts were amazing. Tetela, Bao Buns, Wagyu meatballs, all delicious. We finished with the light and refreshing Coconut granite w/fruit. A perfect ending to our outing. We all plan to return and introduce other family or friends. They have recently been featured on WGN.

Five O Four is my favorite Glen Ellyn restaurant. I've not been disappointed by anything I have ordered. Their cocktails are next level. I've tried them all, but my most favorite is the "Few Shades of Grey". I'm trying to decide what my favorite dish is but I can't narrow it down. Every single thing is so delicious and presented so beautifully. You can really tell how passionate they are about food. My husband and I went to their New Year's Eve celebration last night and we had the greatest time! We got to back into the kitchen and try so many delicious things and talk to chef Christian which was a real treat. The squash blossoms were my absolute favorite dish. To be honest, I've never met a raw oyster that I could tolerate until I reluctantly tried theirs last night. It was truly delicious, I went back for seconds! If you are ever in the mood for something delicious and creative, go to Five O Four Kitchen. You won't be disappointed. Promise.

We wanted to try a new breakfast spot and were not disappointed. This is probably the best breakfast in the burbs. Every component is well thought out and seasoned. The staff is exceptional! They were friendly, accommodating, and definitely worked as a team.

Dining at Five O Four was an absolute treat! We ordered many first course options to try and cocktails/wine! We even got to meet Cristian, the head chef! The tuna was the freshest I have ever had! Every bite of everything we tried was a flavor explosion! I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. You might see reviews of the menu being small, however I don’t agree. Wouldn’t you want to eat something that has been absolutely perfected by Chef? I feel there are plenty of options to choose from! Nicole was our server and was amazing! She checked on us frequently and gave amazing recommendations. My photos don’t serve the presentation justice. I could not even begin to capture the elegance of the plating and the unique flavor profiles of the food. Highly recommend!! We will be coming back soon.

Service was slow on a Sunday morning with only one other table.....otherwise everything was excellent! Yummy organic food, drinks and cute decor inside. Costs are on par for organic and fresh food. The loose leaf tea was great too!

Loved the vibe at this fine city like restaurant! We had the bau buns and chicken Caesar salad for appetizers and they were delicious! The bau buns were juicy, tasty, meaty and filling unlike other weak filled ones you get at other places. We had the salmon and it was also very nicely done and flavorful! To top it off the chef gave us a complimentary seafood delicacy and came out to meet us and gave meaning to what we ate! Staff and service were very nice, courteous and helpful! Loved the experience over all! We are foodies and would definitely come back and highly recommend this place!
